The interesting thing about technology isn't what it can do. It's what changes because of it.

Jonathan Despinidic

I'm Jonathan Despinidic, an Australian technology entrepreneur. I've spent my career turning ideas into businesses and products, from founding and exiting Sipora to working on financial technology platforms and building Nucleotto.

What I've learned is that the difficult part of innovation is rarely the technology itself. It's changing how things work, making decisions with imperfect information and bringing people along when the old approach no longer makes sense.

That's why I'm interested in AI and the future of business. Not just what might be possible, but what will actually change for the people and organisations using it.

THE FUTURE OF WORK

When software starts doing the work.

What changes when AI moves beyond giving us answers and begins carrying out processes, coordinating systems and helping teams deliver outcomes?

GOVERNANCE & SECURITY

Stop giving AI agents the keys to everything.

Autonomy without permissions, oversight and accountability is not a technology strategy. How do we build intelligent systems we can actually trust?

THE NEXT DECADE

The future of business is bigger than software.

An entrepreneur's perspective on intelligent operating systems, new business models and a world in which the relationship between people and technology is changing.

The questions that stay with me.

Questions I'm exploring, not predictions I'm claiming to have answered.

COMMERCE

What happens when AI agents become customers?

When software can find, compare, negotiate and purchase, who is a business really selling to?

SOFTWARE

Will businesses still use software the same way in 2035?

The interface we use today may matter less when intelligent systems can carry out work across applications.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Could ten people build a billion-dollar business?

AI is changing what a small team can accomplish. How far could that leverage go?

Built, not just imagined.

I'm interested in the future because I spend my days dealing with the reality of building technology today. These are some of the businesses behind that perspective.
